If you could get a loan that could not be called, so there was never a worry, wouldn't you really rather do that?
- Suzie owns $1,000,000 worth of Mistress of the Universe stock and has a $500,000 margin balance. We can lend $900,000;
- We send $500,000 to her broker to pay off the debt; and Suzie gets - $400,000 (to spend on those horses) in a limited recourse stock loan.
